Content is pretty much everything online. If you have a single-page site, you have content. If you have a blog, you are publishing content. If you have social media accounts, you’re publishing content.
And if you’ve been following along, then you already know that I’ve harped on targeting your content.
Why waste time publishing content that isn’t effective when you can be spending your time doing something that gets you results. After all, time is the one resource we have that we can’t get more of.
So with all the buzz about Google+ and their recent release of “business pages”, I thought to myself….”so”?

Let’s see…In September IdentyMe released their own infographic highlighting key statistics about Google+:
A few months later, and not much has changed. The demographics of the people that use Google+ seem to be pretty stable…there’s just more of them!
So unless your idea customers are male with a software/engineering focus, publishing content on Google+ isn’t necessarily going to help you achieve any direct business results.
However, I do recommend creating a Google+ account.
The thing is, Google still runs Google+. And it is hard for me to fathom that the content published on Google+ isn’t somehow effecting the search results.
And while you may not find many of your ideal customers on Google+ (they’re most likely hanging out on Facebook), you can try to connect with the influencers there.
It doesn’t take much to create a Google+ profile, and it only takes a few clicks to create a business page from there. So there’s not much reason to share your content on Google+ (even if it’s just for the social backlinks directly from Google itself).
